🐉 Let's hear it for your HHS Marching Band!! 🎵 Yesterday, the Marching Dragons traveled to South Laurel HS to compete in the Cardinal Classic. Through much wind and rain, the Dragons placed 2nd in Class A in the preliminary rounds and 8th Overall in the finals!! It was a long day, and we are so proud of our Dragons who persevered to the end!!

🏀 The 5th/6th grade Lady Dragons were victorious and undefeated with a winning record of 2-0 at Corbin today, winning over Whitley Central and Corbin. Congratulations 🎉 🐉

🎵 Band Competition! 🐉 Today the HHS Marching Band will travel to South Laurel HS to compete in the Cardinal Classic!! Performance time is slated for 12:30 PM. Good luck, Dragons!! #WeAreHarlan #FamilyofDragons

The Harlan Independent School District will be closed on Friday, September 27th, 2024. We will implement Dragon Day/ NTI Day 1. Students may access assignments through their Google Classroom or paper packets. Students have three school days to complete all assignments. As always, teachers and staff are available to assist/support to completion of all work. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to your teacher or school. Grandparents' breakfast will be rescheduled for Friday, October 4th.

🐉 Due to the severe weather forecast, the Harlan high School football game vs. Pineville and Homecoming ceremony scheduled for Friday night have been move to Saturday. Homecoming will begin at 6:00 PM, and the game will kickoff at 7:30. Should severe weather continue to be an issue Saturday, the homecoming ceremony will be postponed to October 11th before the game vs. Knott County.

🐉 After monitoring field conditions throughout the day and increasing amounts of afternoon rainfall, we have decided to reschedule tomorrow's Harlan Middle School Homecoming and football game against Middlesboro. We appreciate your understanding and support.

🐉 The HMS homecoming scheduled for tomorrow will proceed as planned unless severe weather conditions exist. If weather changes are severe, homecoming will be rescheduled for next Thursday's game against Williamsburg. We'll keep everyone updated if any changes are necessary!

💕Dragon Families, We will participate in our Annual Dragons Against Cancer walk on Thursday Oct. 10th at 1:30pm. To participate in the walk, each student needs to pay $1 and have a signed permission slip. The $1 is used to donate to the National Cancer Society. ALL proceeds from this event will be given to the National Cancer Society. T-Shirts are also available for purchase this year.
